MEETINGS

Two international meetings has been held in regard with this project. One being the PIRE workshop in the United States from 24 to 26 April 2013 and the other is the PEER Conference in Bangkok, Thailand in the month of September- October 2013. 


The PIRE (Partnerships for International for Research and Education) workshop was conducted by the University of Minnesota and National Academy of Engineering. The project was discussed in the workshop. This workshop helped gain consensus on the core knowledge and skills (core competencies) that are important in developing an international, interdisciplinary graduate learning experience on Sustainable Cities, design the curriculum for the a six-week Summer School and streamline assessment tools to assess learning in all five competencies.

The five competencies namely :-

a) Sustainability systems concepts

b) Inter-disciplinary learning 

c) Inter-cultural learning

d) Ethics 

e) Community-based field research


The project was put forth in the Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) Science Participants' Conference, Bangkok by USAID (United States Agency for International Development) and NSF (National Science Foundation) from 30 September - 4 October 2013. The project was presented in the conference. Its  purpose, significance, and future of the project were discussed.


Mr. Rakesh Yadav from ROI participated in the workshop and the conference, also projected the project.
